ABout Me
Hi Tigers!
My name is Mia Ford, your principal at Huntley Hills Elementary and Montessori School. I would like to share a little about myself so you can get to know me!
I live in Dunwoody and have two sons Devin and Braxton and a loving husband. Devin recently graduated from A & T State University, May, 2017. Braxton is 12 and loves baseball, basketball, and playing the piano. Braxton attends Peachtree Middle School. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, a gifted endorsement, M.S. in Educational Leadership and a Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.
I enjoy reading, traveling, football, zip lining, swimming, skating, white water rafting, scuba diving and educating students. My favorite books are Charlotte's Web, Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Who am I biographies.
I have been in education for 17 years. I was a teacher for 7 years working at Dunaire and Vanderlyn Elementary school in DeKalb County School District. I also served as a Visiting International Faculty (VIF) teacher and taught abroad in England at Meath Greene Junior School for a year. I served as an assistant principal for 6 years at Woodward Elementary School. I have been serving as principal of Huntley Hills for 6 years.
I believe in inspiring students (you) to achieve all dreams.
